Junior High Gifted & Talented Adolescent Brain Project

Students get to learn about the brain, research a topic of interest in relation, and then present it to their peers. This project is a fan favorite. Aligns to NAGC Standard: 1.5 Cognitive, Psychosocial, and Affective Growth Students demonstrate cognitive growth and psychosocial skills that support their talent development with challenging learning activities. I am a fourth year teacher just wanting to share my projects that I have made for the gifted program.

Teaching style

I am a big fan of using the Gradual Release of Responsibility.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I love the excitement that comes with junior high while also love the autonomy to create fun units and projects.

My own education history

I got my Masters in Curriculum & Instruction: Emphasis on Gifted and Talented Ed in 2023. I just finished my Master's +15 coursework and am taking a few months off before I go for my +30 coursework next summer.
