About the store

Experience

I am the founder and lead teacher of Lionheart Academy, a private school serving students with significant disabilities. My background includes teaching life skills, transition planning, functional academics, communication, self-advocacy, community access, employment readiness, and independent living skills. I create resources based on real-world experience working alongside students, families, and support teams as they prepare for meaningful adult lives.

Teaching style

I believe students learn best through meaningful, real-world experiences. My teaching emphasizes practical skill development, community participation, self-determination, and individualized supports. I strive to create resources that are structured, visual, and adaptable so educators can meet students where they are while building toward greater independence and confidence.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My greatest accomplishments are seeing students grow in independence, confidence, and self-advocacy. Some of my favorite moments include helping students participate in community jobs, volunteer experiences, service projects, recreational activities, and daily living routines that prepare them for adulthood. Watching students discover their strengths and take ownership of their goals is what inspires my work.

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Functional Special Education and have spent my career supporting students with diverse learning, communication, and support needs. Through both classroom experience and school leadership, I have developed a passion for transition planning and helping students build the skills needed for successful adult lives.

Additional biographical information

Two:Ten Pathways was created from a belief that every individual is created with purpose and has meaningful contributions to make in their families, communities, workplaces, and relationships. The name is inspired by Ephesians 2:10 and reflects my commitment to helping students discover their strengths, pursue their goals, and build purposeful, independent lives. When I'm not teaching, you'll likely find me spending time with my husband and three children camping, running, and playing in Kansas.
