After students have read "Hatchet" by Gary Paulsen, test their knowledge of survival with this fun and engaging project. Students will create a survival brochure. Give students this handout with directions and lots of ideas to get them started. Also included is a rubric to grade their final brochure. Although this book is a higher grade level text, I love using it as a read aloud for my elementary level students! They absolutely love it!
