1. Identifying Congruent FiguresCore Concept: Two 2D figures are congruent if and only if there is a rigid motion (or a composition of rigid motions) that maps one figure exactly onto the other. Because rigid motions preserve distance and angle measures, congruent figures maintain the exact same size and shape.Example 1: Demonstrates identifying congruent shapes on a coordinate plane by recognizing their transformations.2. About the store

Experience

I have been teaching for 16 years now. I have taught in many different school's: meaning district schools and charter schools.

Teaching style

For Geometry I treat the 8th graders like high school students, because they are taking a high school class. They have homework everyday. They work on Geometry everyday. I also give them packets for all breaks to work on. We take a quiz or test every week to motor their progress in the class. We take notes, I do examples then we do problems together and then I give them problems to work on at home. Then they come back with questions the next day.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have 100% pass rate in the Geometry EOC for 2 years in a row. A trio of my geometry girls thanked me in their speech at 8th grade graduation. Last years valedictorian also named me in his speech and thanked me. The kids doing well is why I do what I do.

My own education history

I have a bachelor's of science in Education from the University of Winona State in Minnesota.

Additional biographical information

Pineapples: Stand tall, wear a crown and be sweet on the inside. I think all of my students should embody this concept with pineapples.
