About the store
Hi there! Welcome to Willits Works, an ELA-centered store that provides high quality products and endless amounts of time saved. Here's a little bit about me: I just concluded my 7th year of teaching, and have since moved into "momtirement," where I am expecting our first baby and plan on being a stay-at-home mom. I taught 6th and 7th grade for two years, 11th and 12th grade for four years, and 8th-10th grade for six years. At my previous school, I had the pleasure to create and institute the in-class curriculum for the 11th grade (International Literature) and 12th grade (British Literature) English classes, as these grades originally received their ELA education from a 3rd party online program. I love working with middle and high school students, and maintained a teaching philosophy of education centered on rapport.

Hi there! Welcome to Willits Works, an ELA-centered store that provides high quality products and endless amounts of time saved. Teaching style

Student and Teacher led, with lots of discussion, writing, and engagement. My motto behind teaching is the following: "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." (Maya Angelou)

Awards & shining teacher moments

Mentor teacher. Started our school's National Honor Society, and served as the chapter's adviser. Created our school's 11th grade (International Literature) and 12th grade (British Literature) English curriculums. Initiated our school's Summer Reading Program. Co-directed 5 of our school's drama programs.

My own education history

Private elementary schools for K-5th. Public school for 6th-12th. Private University 2014-2018, where I received a BA in Secondary English Education, a BA in Bible, and a Minor in English.

Additional biographical information

I'm an extrovert who'd rather be reading and eating cookies, and I live by John 3:30. I live in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia with my husband, our fluffy Alaskan Malamute, and our rambunctious ferret.
