Biosphere 2, near Tucson, Arizona, was built in 1991 to be a large self-contained ecosystem that humans could live in for years without needing outside air, food, or water.  It didn’t work. Students will watch a Biosphere 2 Documentary and complete the questions. Students will then design a Biosphere 3 that they believe will be successful based on criteria needed for a functioning ecosystem.
