About Me
I’m Jill Wright, and I’ve been an educator for 24 years. I spent 21 of those years teaching social studies in grades 6–12, with most of my time—22 years—at the middle school level and two years in high school.
For the past three years, I’ve been the Library Media Specialist at a middle school, where I work with all grade levels and subjects. I’ve also served as the school’s Technology Coordinator for the last six years, helping students and teachers integrate tech into their learning.
Outside of school, I’m a proud mom of three and love finding new ways to inspire curiosity and a love of learning in every student I meet.

Welcome to “Find Your Name in Books!”
To kick off the school year and introduce our students to the library, we’ve created a fun and engaging activity just for grades 4–7! In "Find Your Name in Books," students explore the library catalog to find book titles that match each letter of their first name. Along the way, they’ll learn how to use the online catalog, locate books using call numbers, and navigate the library shelves independently. Students will document their discoveries, snap photos of book covers, and create a personaliz

Navigating the World of Nonfiction-Library Incentive Program
The activity was designed for a middle school library in which students do not attend library classes. The theme goes along with Nonfiction November and also engages students with reading, a contest, and clues. In November, read nonfiction books and submit a quick review via a Google form to receive a clue within one school day. Use the clues you gather to uncover the hiding location of the administration, teachers, and librarians.

About Me

Teaching style
My teaching style is rooted in inquiry-based learning, where students are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and explore real-world connections. I prioritize small group instruction to build meaningful relationships and support individual growth. I challenge students with tasks that reach DOK Level 4, pushing them to analyze, synthesize, and apply their knowledge in creative ways. At the heart of everything I do is a deep love of learning—and my goal is to spark that same excitement and curiosity in every student.
