Word Mats for Early Writers
These word mats work equally well as inspiration and as mini spelling reference sheets for beginning writers. There are multiple levels for the same topic, so your students can write about the same topic with a resource that is targeted to their abilities. Writing Checklists for all ages
These little checklists are used by students to self-monitor their editing process. Before they are finished a piece of writing, they make sure that they've done each of the things on their list. There are four different lists, easily colour-coded to differentiate for abilities: Pink for emergent writers, orange for Year 1, yellow for Years 2-3, and green for advanced Year 3 and up. This resource saves the educators time and gives the student much more agency by scaffolding their editing process

WH- Questions Practice 02
ESL, ESOL, and ESL students practice answering WH- questions. Students write the answer to the question and draw a picture next to their answer to reinforce understanding of each wh- word. Students should understand that "Who" asks about someone, "What" asks about something, "Where" asks about a place, "When" asks about a time, "Why" asks for a reason, and "How" asks for an explanation. This activity can be used as both practice and assessment.

Social Story: Back-to-School (post-lockdown)
I created this resource to support tamariki (children) returning to school after lockdown. It is general enough that it should probably work for any Aotearoa primary school. Yoga Yamas Reflections - NO PREP SEL Activity
Each page is a prompt to reflect on one of the five Yamas: 1. Ahimsa (Non-harming) 2. Satya (Truthfulness) 3. Asteya (Non-stealing) 4. Brahmacharya (Right use of energy or moderating the senses) 5. Morning Hui (Meeting) Agenda
This is a cute checklist I've made for my kids to have a visual representation of what we do each morning. I print this big and put it behind plastic; then I can use a whiteboard marker to check off each thing each day, rub it off after our hui (meeting), and use fresh the next day. The kaiawhina, or helper of the day, gets to check. This is something they absolutely love to do and that keeps them engaged, too!
