Description

This pack of math assessments aligns with 3rd grade Common Core standards in the "Geometry" domain.

Included are 2 pages for each of the standards in the domain. The first page is called a "practice" page and the second page is called an "apply" page. Practice pages give students more practice with the skills embedded within each standard, and apply pages give students opportunities to apply those skills to higher-level problems.

Also included: 2 student data tracking pages (bar graph format) and answer keys for each assessment page. *Please note the total page count includes answer keys.

You could give Practice/Apply pages together, assign one as homework and one in class, or use them before/after reteaching. There are lots of options as to how to make these best work for your classroom.

Understand that shapes in different categories (e.g., rhombuses, rectangles, and others) may share attributes (e.g., having four sides), and that the shared attributes can define a larger category (e.g., quadrilaterals). Recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and draw examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories.
Partition shapes into parts with equal areas. Express the area of each part as a unit fraction of the whole. For example, partition a shape into 4 parts with equal area, and describe the area of each part as 1/4 of the area of the shape.
