Description
Two digit Addition/Subtraction Set
Do your students struggle with knowing how to work through a math word problem? Use these materials to help them develop strategies to use when faced with a math problem solving situation.
This set includes 5 sheets that can be used to display the problem solving steps in your classroom. These are the 4 steps that my third graders use when working on a solution to a math word problem.
Along with the poster set, I have included 11 problem sheets. Each sheet includes the steps, and just one problem and a series of flow chart boxes for your students to record their thinking on.
I use this set during small group guided math time. I will often place the sheets in sheet protectors and students can solve using dry erase markers. The problems vary in difficulty. Some require just one step and others are more advanced requiring multiple steps. I included a blank one so you can handwrite your own problems in as well.
Visit me at my blog: Third Grade Thinkers for more details on how I use this set in my classroom.

Great resource for students.
I love this strategy for helping students learn to slow down and practice reading the question carefully before responding!
