About the store
Two months after graduating from college, I was on a plane to Japan. I had never taught a day in my life and didn't know a word of Japanese. (Nihongo ga sukoshi wakarimasu.) I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry. While my classmates were applying to graduate and medical school, I applied to teach English in Japan. Fast forward 20 years, I have a master's degree in education and have taught English to high school & college students as well as adults in New York City, my hometown of Buffalo, NY, and Columbus, OH where I currently live. I have also taught abroad in Japan, Malaysia, and Chile (Hablo español bastante bien). I teach to help all students develop the skills and knowledge needed to be engaged, successful, thriving members of society. I only hope my students have learned as much from me as I have from them.

Teaching style

Three steps to take your students' English to the next level: 1. Students need to LEARN the language. 2. Students need to OBSERVE the language while reading or listening. 3. Finally, students can USE the language while speaking and writing.
