Description

Looking for QR code activities to make math more engaging? This Common Core aligned task card bundle allows students to practice a variety of important common core skills while having a blast scanning the QR codes. The self-checking QR codes provide students with immediate feedback and are an easy way to integrate technology into your math centers. Please be sure that you have a device that can read QR codes before purchasing (iPod Touch, iPad, tablet, or laptop/desktop with a camera). There are many free QR scanning apps for portable devices and I recently discovered the free app QR Journal for laptops.

I included a student recording sheet and regular answer key for each set of 20 task cards. Here is what’s included in this space-themed pack along with the Common Core Standard(s) each center supports:

-Planetary Place Value: Writing numbers in standard, expanded, and word form through the millions and identifying which digit is in the specified place (4.NBT.2)

-Martian Multiplication: Multiplying a whole number of up to 4 digits by a one-digit number as well as two two-digit number (4.NBT.5)

-Star-aligned Shapes and Symmetry: Identifying 2D shapes and identifying lines of symmetry (4.G.3)

-Rocket Reducing: Naming fractions in simplest form (3.NF.3b, 4.NF.1)

-Launch Pad Perimeter and Area: Finding the area and perimeter of various polygons and identifying the length of the missing side when given the area/perimeter (3.MD.7, 3.MD.8, 3.G.1, 4.MD.3, 4.G.2)

*I have this same exact product without QR codes HERE

This bundle complements my Camping Out With QR Codes Bundle, my QR Codes are Sand-sational Bundle, my Fiesta Themed QR Codes Bundle, and my Call Me QRazy Bundle

****You can now purchase this pack and the 4 above as a DISCOUNTED MEGA BUNDLE****

Relate area to the operations of multiplication and addition.
Solve real world and mathematical problems involving perimeters of polygons, including finding the perimeter given the side lengths, finding an unknown side length, and exhibiting rectangles with the same perimeter and different areas or with the same area and different perimeters.
Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems. For example, find the width of a rectangular room given the area of the flooring and the length, by viewing the area formula as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor.
