This unit helps students to understand how to chunk the sounds then sounding out words. It includes 5 different activities and a Chunky Monkey poster. The activities include: finding the small words inside the big words, putting together onsets and rimes to make words, breaking apart onsets and rimes, breaking apart syllables, and breaking apart compound words.
