Direct & Inverse Variation Equations Card Sort
In this activity, students are given a set of 18 cards with equations and a graphic organizer. The students must determine which equations represent inverse variation, direct variation, or just a linear equation. They will need to solve for 'y' on most all equations. Then, they write down the equation in the correct category on their organizer.

This was a fun way for the students to review Direct and Inverse Variations at the end of the year. It was easy to put put together.
Engaging and effective activity for reinforcing the difference between direct and inverse variation. The card sort is easy to prep and gets students thinking critically about the relationships. Great for practice or review—clear visuals and answer key make it efficient to use.
