Description

This product contains 32 task cards to help students practice estimating the area of a complex shape. Each card has a square unit for students to use as a benchmark as they solve for the area of the shape. An answer sheet for students and a key are both included.

You may like my other area task card sets, as well.

Cards can be printed in color or black line masters. Laminate them for durability.

Skills Practiced

-Determine the area of a shape when given a benchmark.

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.MD.C.7.C

Use tiling to show in a concrete case that the area of a rectangle with whole-number side lengths a and b + c is the sum of a × b and a × c. Use area models to represent the distributive property in mathematical reasoning.
