Village Tutoring began as a way to provide 1:1 literacy tutoring to children aged PreK-8th grade, needing outside support in reading/writing instruction. As a former ELA classroom teacher, I received my bachelors in English Education in 2004, and have specialized training in Orton Gillingham & the Science of Reading. I follow a structured, multi-sensory, phonics based approach to literacy -- backed by the Science of Reading. I believe the BEST lessons appeal to a student's interests, and utilize a variety of learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic).
