With over a decade immersed in literacy—both as an elementary literacy coach and a reading interventionist — I understand your desire to move the needle in your students' literacy development. Teaching style
I believe EVERY student can unlock the magic of reading! My teaching style is all about creating an engaging, multisensory adventure. Picture a classroom where lessons are vibrant, hands-on, and full of energy, delivered with systematic, explicit, and direct instruction. Whether it's through colorful visuals, interactive activities, or a sprinkle of humor, I'm here to make learning an exciting journey for every child. Let's bring the joy of literacy to life, one colorful lesson at a time!
My own education history
With a Masters Degree and background in Humanities, Classics, and Religious Studies, I've always been passionate about language & culture. I'm bilingual in Polish and studied Spanish in high school, followed by Portuguese and Latin in college. As a proud word nerd (ehem...logophile), my fascination with roots & etymology has only grown over time. If I could go back to my undergrad days, I would've loved to have studied linguistics. For now, I'm continuing to grow my own teacher knowledge - and excited to bring my love for words to the classroom!
Additional biographical information
I'm Orton-Gillingham trained and currently in LETRS training. I've read dozens of books and attended hundreds of hours of professional learning focused on the Science of Reading. This extensive knowledge base allows me to provide structured, evidence-based literacy instruction that meets the diverse needs of all learners. My goal is to equip teachers with the tools and strategies they need to excel in their literacy instruction.
