For the past 23 years, I’ve had the joy of teaching little learners and creating a classroom filled with creativity, confidence, and fun! My teaching journey includes 10 wonderful years in kindergarten, 11 amazing years in first grade, and 2 years in second grade. I am currently a proud first grade teacher who loves helping students grow both academically and socially while making learning exciting every single day.
I hold a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and an M.Ed. in Curriculum, and I’m passionate about creating meaningful, engaging learning experiences that help students thrive. As the creator behind Roaring Into Learning, I love designing bright, classroom-tested resources that bring learning to life through themed activities, interactive games, creative classroom slides, and hands-on fun. From phonics and math review to celebration days and classroom décor, my goal is to create resources that make learning meaningful for students and manageable for teachers.
When I’m not teaching or creating, you can usually find me reading a good book, listening to audiobooks, designing new classroom ideas, or dreaming up my next fun themed learning day for my little lions!

Teaching style
My teaching style is all about creating a classroom where students feel excited, supported, and confident while learning. I believe young learners thrive when lessons are engaging, hands-on, and filled with opportunities to explore, create, and collaborate. I love using themed activities, interactive games, movement, visuals, and creative learning experiences to make important skills meaningful and memorable for my students.
As a first grade teacher, I understand the importance of balancing strong academic expectations with patience, encouragement, and relationship building. I strive to create a warm classroom environment where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and celebrate their growth. Whether we’re practicing phonics skills, solving math problems, or enjoying a themed celebration day, my goal is always to make learning fun while helping every student build confidence and independence.
Through Roaring Into Learning, I create classroom-tested resources designed to help teachers save time while bringing creativity, engagement, and joy into their classrooms every day.
Awards & shining teacher moments
Some of the brightest moments in my 23-year teaching career have come from watching young learners grow in confidence, independence, and excitement for learning. From kindergarten to first and second grade, I’ve loved creating meaningful classroom experiences that make learning fun and memorable for my students.
I especially enjoy bringing creativity into the classroom through themed learning days, interactive activities, and hands-on lessons that students remember long after they leave my room. Creating and sharing resources through Roaring Into Learning has also been a special part of my journey, allowing me to support teachers and students beyond my own classroom
My own education history
I earned my B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Georgia College & State University and later completed my M.Ed. in Curriculum from LaGrange College. My education helped shape my passion for creating engaging, meaningful learning experiences for young students and continues to inspire the resources and activities I create for my classroom and for Roaring Into Learning.

Outside of the classroom, I am a proud mother of two and love spending time reading, listening to audiobooks, and creating new ideas for my students and classroom.
