The A Novel Advantage™, Simply Novel LLC team has over forty years teaching experience. Completing their Master of Arts in Teaching with a specialization in Reading together strengthened what the team already knew: students need linguistic and visual learning aides to strengthen comprehension skills. A Novel Advantages’™ expertise includes coaching teachers in the implementation of the Common Core standards for ELA and literacy in the content areas. They also coach teachers in the implementation of the new ELD standards now being put into practice across the state of California. A Novel Advantage™, Simply Novel LLC presented its innovative learning tool in one of the nation's largest counties VPSS trainings and is successfully being used in the Cleveland Job Corps Center as to improve reading comprehension.

We believe in hands on, project-based learning that meets the needs of diverse learners, allowing students to demonstrate mastery and apply learning in the real-world.

Our teaching experiences include English grade levels 9 -12, Language Arts grades 7-8, as well as reading, Advanced Placement, inclusion, and ELL.

After spending another summer vacation working, and talking with general and special education colleagues, we learned that what we were looking for wasn't available. And so, A Novel Advantage™, Simply Novel LLC was born. Today, standards direct educators to meet the needs of all students, inclusive of a variety of learning styles. Looks good on paper, but for those of us in the classroom, it isn't always the reality. The struggle to meet the rigors of a diverse classroom as well as the additional demands placed on educators presents a universal problem - the time factor. The product A Novel Advantage™, Simply Novel LLC is not intended to replace the teacher; instead, it supports good teaching practices. Used appropriately, A Novel Advantage™, Simply Novel LLC provides a foundation for learning. Prompted by cues, questions, and advanced organizers, A Novel Advantage™ allows the teacher to focus on what really matters in the novel.
