Lab Report Format Guide
Share

Description

A one page lab report format guide for students to follow for each report they write up in the class. I hand this worksheet out to my students at the beginning of the year and they use it as a reference all year long. Lab reports are always 50 points and this shows the students how much each section is worth. Guide gives helpful hints for the students to remember what should be included in each section. I have used this with both middle school and high school students, but it would also be a great guide for science fair entries. Scientific Method and Inquiry Process. By Maura Bostwick Neill

I really like using this to tutor my Biology students in writing up a lab. I find that writing up a lab report is a huge challenge for them and of course, I expect the scientific method (which they don't come as prepared as I want them to from public middle schools). I work at a high school in a rural area with lots of learning challenges. Using this report format over and over is my plan, so by the end of the year, they can use the scientific method to write up all lab reports!

Simple and straight forward, this helped me design an assignment for "Dr. Heidegger's Experiment".
