Description
(16 pages) This is a hands-on activity that utilizes measuring and math. Teams of students will follow simple directions and use math formulas to draw and cut rectangles, arcs, and circles. From these they construct the body tubes and cone sections that make up a scale model of the famous Apollo Saturn V moon rocket. Made entirely of single strength cardboard, the finished model is over three feet tall. The time for completion depends on the size of each student construction team (2-4 hrs).
