Description
This lesson can be used after my lesson on introduction to measurement or you can use it when you ready to make your students start measuring things in both U.S. units and Metric units. It requires students to make estimates for measurements then complete the measurements in U.S. and metric units. The students can then check the reasonablness of their estimates and compare the U.S. to the metric system. It involves group work. It also has a smart board activity that you can use with the lesson but isn't required for the lesson. It alligns with the Louisiana Comprhensive Cirriculm for Unit 6 activiites 4 and 5.
