Problem solving is an essential math skill for primary students, however, it can be a difficult concept to teach. I have put together a unit that will give you everything you need to teach your students the 5 most accessible problem solving strategies:

(2) Use Ten Frames
(3) Draw a Picture
(4) Draw Tally Marks
(5) Use Manipulatives

- 5 page flip book for students to make and use as their individual anchor chart

- addition poem using signal words

- subtraction poem using signal words

- an 11 page problem solving journal to extend your students learning giving them the opportunity to solidify their learning
