This packet utilizes a format based on Singapore Math's RICE strategy: Record, Illustrate, Compute and Explain.

There is also a heavy emphasis on Singapore Math Bar Models
(Model Drawings) throughout the workbook.

How do Bar Models Help With Problem Solving?

Based on Singapore Math Strategies, A Bar Model is a learning tool designed to help students solve math word problems accurately and efficiently. Bar Models help students to model mathematical relationships and identify known and unknown quantities. A Bar Model provides students with a powerful image that organizes information and simplifies the problem solving process.

Great for practice. Worksheets were all very similar though so it does get a bit repetitive, good to break it up with activities related.

Planning to use these with my learning support kiddos! We are making the transition to Math In Focus next year, but wanted to introduce bar modeling this year to help aide in the transition! These look great, and I can't wait to use them!
