Description
This is a wonderful 9 page scatterplot activity I made for my 8th graders this year. The data is from a watermelon seed spitting contest. It's a goofy lesson with a funny outcome! Students are then given the opportunity to conduct their own seed spitting contest (popcorn kernels work). They look at the distance their kernal went based on their height. Lots of questions based on both scatterplots. Great assessment and even better group activity! Very fun activity!!!

Great resource!
Thank you.
The kids loved going outside and "spitting". I would of never thought of this idea. I decided to also use the height and arm span to show a correlation.
