Shape and Color-Coded Weekly Grammar Homework
Share

Description

It's been my experience that kids can't remember the parts of speech from year to year. When I offer feedback, such as "you need to add more adjectives" or "your verbs are not in the same tense", they don't even remember what a verb or adjective is! With this weekly homework assignment, you can use the same shapes & color-coding each week to label the parts of speech in sentences. It's a fairly quick assignment, and kids and parents will get used to the routine. Eventually, they will outgrow this assignment, and when editing each other's papers, they can constructively offer their peers feedback on their parts of speech. Grammar assignments will make sense, and they will score better on them. *This can also be used as a literacy station. I can email you the Publisher version, so you can adjust it weekly. :)

I hoped there would be more than just one example page. But I will use this in my classroom for sure.

I'm sorry! :( I just assumed people would plug in their own sentences weekly (depending on what their focus was that week). I can add a couple more though. I'll email it to you as soon as I do. Thank you! :)
