Description
Have your students practice the science process skill of inferring with shells. When you infer, you draw a conclusion based on information not directly observed. In this lesson, students are given a piece of a broken shell. They are asked to observe its properties and infer what the entire shell looked like before being broken, then complete their inference by drawing. Teacher instructions, scoring rubric, recording page, narrative writing page are included in this lesson packet.
