Description
Students are given graph paper. They cut it into a rectangle shaped like a snowboard. They then color the squares, making patterns or designs. They then count the squares to see how many of each color and record it on the provided sheet. To make it more challenging, this can be also used for fractions. Students write the fraction of the snowboard for each color. You can also use this for data analysis - mean, median, mode of the colors used for the individuals or for the whole class. This is a fun winter activity that can address many different skills.
