Description

This FREEBIE provides an opportunity for students to practice naming exponents in four different ways.

Cards are included in “standard form” (5 raised to the power of two--sorry, no superscript function available in the TpT description box!), word form (“five to the second power”), squared (“five squared”) and as a numeral (25). Four blank cards are included as well so that a teacher can add other exponents for review.

Cards are included for different forms of “1 squared” to “6 squared” as well as “one cubed” to “six cubed.”

These cards can be used in three easy-to-play card games to help students practice exponents: “War,” “Fish,” and “Concentration.”

The cards may be helpful as an introduction to exponents for younger students (fourth grade, perhaps third grade) or for review for older students (fifth or sixth grade).

The cards are designed with pastel colors and patterns (so you won't run out of colored ink!) and should be printed on cardstock.

These cards can be used in a center for work with a partner or in a small group arrangement.
