Description

This set includes both black and white and colored coins. Copy and laminate the number coins. Cut coins apart and place in a St. Patrick’s Day themed sack or a plastic pot. Students will take turns pulling out the coins. There are three levels of play and a recording sheet for each level is included. This activity may be played whole group or in small groups.
Level 1: A student pulls out two coins and decides which number is bigger and which number is smaller. Students write the numbers in the correct column on the recording sheet.
Level 2: A student pulls out two coins and creates a two digit number. Reverse the digits and compare the numbers. Which number is bigger? Which is smaller? Students write the numbers in the correct column.
Level 3: A student pulls out three coins and decides the biggest three digit number that can be created. Write it on the recording sheet. The student then decides the smallest three digit number that can be made and records it on the recording sheet.
