Description
The Physics Homework Tutorial Vodcasts ("video" podcasts) provide a perfect way to incorporate one-on-one tutoring into your classroom (or your students' homes!) without having to be in many places at once! Physics students often find homework to be one of the most frustrating aspects of the class, and these videos not only help them understand how to do the problems, but also how to apply their knowledge to other situations too.
On this set of videos, Advanced Placement (AP) Physics teachers explain how to complete homework problems in "The Basics of Physics." Each of the 6 tutorials explains a different problem or problems in detail, complete with equations, diagrams, and hints for successful Physics problem solving. Specific topics included in this lesson are: the metric system, SI labels, unit conversions, dimensional analysis, and significant figures or significant digits. All videos are produced as mp4 files and embedded in html files. Teachers are free to create DVD's of the videos for students to take home (student copies of DVD's are also available for minimal cost at www.PhysicsVodcasts.com). Applicable to Physics, AP Physics or Non-Calculus College Physics (and some lower level physics.)
(Note: Many topics in the Physics Homework Tutorial Vodcast library have been divided into smaller segments for Digital Download to accommodate the maximum file size of the Teachers Pay Teachers web site. If you wish to purchase larger numbers of tutorials, the entire library of 27 topics (over 230 tutorials) is available on DVD for $20 at www.PhysicsVodcasts.com or http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Physics-Tutorial-Vodcast-Library-DVD on the TeachersPayTeachers web site.)
Tutorials included in this lesson:
1-1: Metric Conversions
1-2: Unit Conversions & Dimensional Analysis
1-3: Unit Conversions & Dimensional Analysis (II)
1-4: Unit Conversions & Dimensional Analysis (III)
1-5: Dimensional Analysis
1-6: Significant Figures
