Description
Starfall.com is the first website that I introduce to my kindergarteners. It is a child friendly site conducive to independent practice. A couple of years ago, I wanted to know more about what my students were working on during their computer time, so I created this book.
The first page is a picture of the ABC section of Starfall. I usually make this page the homepage on my classroom computers to make it readily accessible for my students. These directions are left at the computer center, so that my students are reminded of what to do.
The following pages are the book pages. The cover page is cut and glued onto a construction paper cover. The following pages are folded in half and bounded in between the cover pages. The first page of the student book is used to help them keep track of the letters completed by coloring the letter boxes when they have completed the activity. The second page is the alphabet in sign language. The rest of the pages are in abc order.
How students use the book: 1. Play one letter game on computer at http://www.starfall.com. 2. Find letter in book. 3. Write uppercase and lowercase letters neatly. 4. Draw and label two pictures starting with the letter at the bottom of the page. 5. Color the letter on the letter chart that corresponds with the color on the Starfall chart. 6. Go to a new letter game on the computer.
