Description

Based on Silver & Strong task rotations, this assignment handout offers 4 choices for students to complete for assessment on WWII. Some focus on war events, while others cover the home front events, including Japanese internment.

Great as a homework assignment or as a project for students to complete for unit assessment.

Have students complete one task as a choice lesson, or assign all four lessons for comprehensive overview of the era.

I have bought other great resources from this teacher so I had high hopes, however, it was basic the for $2, and one of the options was the interview a WWII veteran which isn't likely in 2025. It had been a while since I'd taught a course that covered WWII and was looking for something quick; this just didn't hit the spot.

Hello History Made Simple, I’m sorry you were disappointed in this resource. I will definitely take a look at it to do some updates, but I also wanted to make some suggestions. In my classes, there was often limited access to those who lived through a historic event, so I gave my kids options. One suggestion was to ask parents or other family for stories they remember ancestors sharing. Another was to use recorded life stories. Many state libraries have these available. I’m in KY and the KY History Museum has them for many different American events or eras. And the best part about using these is that they are from our state. A final option would be accessing letters from soldiers to work backwards for questioning. I hope these ideas are helpful! Michele
