I am so excited to share my winter math journal with you! My students love math journals! I have always used strips that students glue into a spiral for math journals until recently. I love having a thematic monthly journal even more because at the end of the month or theme, it goes home for parents to see and review concepts with students! Parents can see student skill practice and progress easily. I simply staple mine into books but you could bind them in a variety of ways. I always add literacy to everything I teach. I have students find and highlight (with a yellow crayon) certain words, like color and/or number words. I base my approach on my current students and their level of skill/need. I strongly believe in challenging students so I modify as needed. If you have any questions or have suggestions, please let me know! I appreciate your feedback! Please follow me on TPT, on my blog @ www.oursmartcommunity.blogspot.com
Enjoy! Kristine Weyher
