About the store
I have been teaching for over 20 years, most of them spent in kindergarten and first grade. My love of primary reading and math inspired me to develop the resources that you will find in my store. There are reading and math games, beginning reading and phonics-based materials, as well as a wide variety of engaging digital Boom Cards™, and more! Many of my materials were created with differentiation in mind and can be adjusted to address various skill levels. There are materials for whole groups, small groups, independent activities, take-home materials, and centers. I also have a range of hands on, cut-and-glue materials which keep students engaged, and seem particularly well-suited for those who struggle with writing. They have proven to be a success in my own classroom and I'm excited to share them on Teachers Pay Teachers!

Teaching style
I like to use a variety of materials to teach to the wide range of interests and ability levels of the students who enter my classroom. I'm all about using fun and innovative methods to encourage learning!

My own education history
I actually started out in another field. While working on my doctorate in school psychology, I had a revelation. I think it's a big hint when, instead of shadowing the school psychologist, you'd rather be in the first grade classroom cutting out bulletin board materials! That was my wake-up call!
I have degrees from Morehead State University and Illinois State. My MA is from Wheaton College. In 2024, I completed my LBS1 coursework at Western Illinois University.
One of my goals in life is to always keep learning and growing as an educator!

In my spare time, I can be found spending time with my 3 kids, exercising or enjoying an outdoor activity, working on family pictures and videos, or creating useful classroom materials.
