Description
This set of task cards provides practice in writing conversion factors and helps prepare students to convert units using conversion factors and completing dimensional analysis problems. There are 24 total task cards plus a measurement equivalencies reference sheet and a student recording sheet. These tasks meet HS.N-Q.A.1.
There are 12 questions that require students to write conversion factors from measurement equivalencies and 8 questions that require them to decide which unit equivalencies they should use to create conversion factors that will convert certain units in general (for example, ounces to pounds) . In addition, there are 4 task cards that require students to use conversion factors to complete unit conversion problem.
Use task cards at centers or stations, and for activities like “scoot”, scavenger hunts, warm up activities, whole class problem solving tasks or other similar activities. You can also print multiple sets and use as question cards with game boards.
