In this 2 page, 6 question worksheet plus answer key (4 pages total) students are asked to choose the correct one step equation that matches a given situation. All problems involve decimals and include only addition and subtraction. Students are also asked if they can come up with their own equation that will work but is different from the given equation. I modified this and eliminated the multiply choice options. I required students to write the equations. I used this in class after we went through the different operation words that might be used in real life problems. I put students in groups. These questions worked well.
