I purchased the tic tac toe fractions board this morning and it looks like fun. I have a couple of questions though.
1- The upper right hand corner is to make a fraction fortune teller. It says to play the teacher's one first, then make your own. I did not see a template for the teacher one and I'm not sure exactly what this is. Can you please explain it to me?
2- For fraction war (lower right hand corner), it says to use the fraction model cards. I'm not sure what these are. Are these the fraction flash cards that are included?
3- For the powerpoint choice, it says to make a powerpoint to teach fourth graders. I teach a fifth grade class and because this is a PDF, I am unable to change it. In the description for the product it said that this was appropriate for 4th-I think 6th. I didn't realize it was specific to 5th grade.

For fraction war, you can use the same set of fraction flash cards and simply play way with them. I have my students use both the written fraction and the pictorial models in this game. You can choose whether you want the larger or smaller fraction to win.

Our class determines inherited traits as anything that an organism is born with or an instinct. Some examples of inherited traits might be eye color, the ability to curl your tongue, or hitchhiker's thumb.
On the other hand, learned behaviors are anything that an organism learns by observing others. Some examples would be riding a bike, speaking a language, or an animal learning a trick from a trainer.

If you are opening only the Civil War Task Cards if should be a PDF document and can be opened using Adobe (preferred) or Preview.
If you are trying to unzip the file for the Civil War Activity Bundle I can only speak from my own experience. When I look at the file in Finder/My Documents I double click the file and this unzips it.

The freebie week is from the beginning of the year, but the whole product is very similar throughout.
The number of the day goes from hundredths all the way through hundred millions, but in no particular order. I have been using it all year and every so often we still get a number like 4. Really, it is very random.
The daily vocabulary/idiom portion is the same style all year, and the content area square really varies day to day. I will say that it is based on fourth grade standards, but I don't think there is anything that third graders couldn't do.
With this being said, I am confident that with 180+ pages of morning work I think that you can find more than half of them that would work for you and your class.
Please let me know if you have any further questions or would like any additional information.

I purchased your math bundle tic tac toe choice boards and have a couple of questions. On the division tic tac toe board, I was wondering what you used for the division folder game? Do you have an example on your blog that shows the fortune teller? I am getting ready to start using these and I am very excited to see how my students do. Thanks

For the division board any file game can work. I have used different games based on the level of my students that year. One of my favorites that I used this year is called "Remainders Wanted" and can be found at http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Remainders-Wanted-Long-Division-Game It is a free download and my students loved it.
I do not currently have an example of the fortune teller on my blog, but I think that is a great idea and will work to get a post up about it soon!

Showdown is a cooperative learning structure that can be used with any problem. For probability showdown, I simply use different probability problems for students to solve. The problems I use have been collected over the years, but I will work to write some of my own to include in the product itself.

What type of combining are the students doing. Are they using the FANBOYS or shortening sentences, appositives? I really like this product, but I teach 5th grade and I need them to practice making compound and complex sentences with conjunctions. Would this work? Can I edit the owl cards to make my own sentences to combine?

Most of the sentences in this product are meant to combine sentences with a conjunction, however a few are sentences that can be combined without a conjunction.
There is a blank sheet of cards that can be used to add your own sentences, but it is not an editable format.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I am in the midst of my fourth year of fourth grade at a suburban school in Texas. I have the best students in the world that make my job so much fun!
MY TEACHING STYLE
In our classroom I try to provide as much choice to students as possible. I employ a lot of stations and tictactoe style activities in which students can choose how they would like to show me what they have learned. Our school just got our first set of Ipads and I am anxious to incorporate these into our classroom as well. Cooperative learning and community building are the glue in our classroom and I will never give either up. I operate on the principles that every student wants to talk, move, and have fun so I try to incorporate as much of each into every day we have together. MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
I attended Texas State University to earn my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a teaching certificate in early childhood through fourth grade with an additional certification in english as a second language. I enjoyed Texas State University so much that I immediately applied and was accepted into the Teacher Fellows program there to earn my masters. Accordingly, I was able to complete my first year of teaching while attending graduate courses and completing an action research project. I earned a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in this program that also instilled in me the necessity for cooperative learning and community building in the classroom.
ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
When I am not working on my classroom I enjoy reading, traveling, and racing cars. It is currently one of my goals to visit all fifty states and all seven continents, but I won't stop after reaching that goal.
