It's hard even for adults to master homonyms and homophones! Imagine what it's like for our students. Introduce these most commonly confused words to your students a couple at a time or have them pick the words they use incorrectly. Have students place this reference chart in their binders or grammar folders. When asked to edit their work, have them refer to this chart to make sure they used their homonyms/homophones correctly.

It shows me how much they understand about the book and its characters so I am able to see where I need to fill in the misunderstandings.
