I created this resource for my repeat students and so they wouldn't get incredibly bored with doing the same thing we did in their first year. With my 6th graders, I usually follow the plan to the letter, as it is their first year as a Stage B Read 180 student. This file contains 5 activities for each day of the first week (plus one).

Have your students track their SRI progress with this awesome sheet. It also gives students their grade equivalent and whether or not they are emergent, basic, or proficient on each level.

These sheets have become very helpful in my classroom. We use them as a "road map" for each workshop. When we approach new vocabulary or begin a new segment, I have my students write the information down in the corresponding boxes. I have the students staple this into their folders so we can keep track of what articles they've read and the vocal words from the stretch article. I have also implemented a reward program where if they score 100% on their first try, they will get a gold star. After a predetermined amount of gold stars, they will earn a prize. Another option is to hold the class accountable and whatever class earns a predetermined amount of stars first will earn a prize.
