Danielle Krantz  (TpT Seller) re: Find Someone Who...Knows Fractions Game!
This looks great, and I can't wait to use it in my classroom. Quick comment, though--there is a typo on the answer key. The fraction for 0.75 should be 3/4, not 1/4. I just thought I would let you know since it was a featured download today :-)

Thank you SO VERY much, Danielle! I just corrected and re-uploaded. I checked off the 'notify buyers' box, and hope it works for Free Downloads so that everyone gets the corrected copy. One too many last minute changes...that's what I'm going to blame it on! Thanks again, you are too kind. Your newest follower...

Hi, I teach grades K-2 but may be bumped up to 3, 4 or 5 next September, so I am glad I found your space on TPT. I teach in the Bronx,( since 1997) but my question is for my part time homework help/ tutoring of my 9 year old grandson. He is having a hard time with some of his multiplication facts, ( he was held over in grade 2 in Mt Vernon NY and is presently in grade 3. I didn't have a problem with his mom ( some 20 years ago when she was 10- she memorized all of the tables) What can I do, we memorized most of the table, have done pictures of arrays... help!

For me, it was always about concentrating ONLY on one number at a time. Each night, for a few minutes, have your grandson only work on, say, his 'fours'. Have him make his own flash cards....doesn't have to be anything fancy. The fact on the front and (in light pencil!) the answer on the reverse. You could find some cool 'boy' stickers to dress them up! Do them backwards and forwards until he knows them without hesitating for a beat. You could offer a reward for those few minutes each evening so he doesn't become recalcitrant, but make it about doing something fun with you, his grandma. This worked for one of my own children, and several of my students who've struggled with the facts. Time is NEVER wasted working on these, as you well know being an educator yourself. My students (I teach sixth grade this year) who do well in math are also the students who know their facts through and through. I VERY much hope this helps you....!!!

Oh gosh Michele, thank you for the email. I had utterly forgotten about this and have not checked the thread since before Christmas! To read about your illness was frightening but so glad that things are progressing so well! I hope you are feeling better and better each and every day!
I went to the thread and, by scrolling back and forth, I was able to get myself somewhat up to date. It looks like I owe $20 still, and need to package up and send to you a laminated product (anything, right?), business cards, as well as a giveaway? I don't know if I can get everything ready before you leave for Greensboro, but I'm hoping to get it to you there, if this is ok. I'm assuming you'll post your new address in the thread? Thanks so much for the email reminder, you are so sweet to remind laggards like myself when you have so much on your plate right now!
Prayers going your way, Wendy (AlwaysLearning)

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm in my eleventh year of teaching. I have taught sixth grade now for two years, after nine years at 4th grade, and am loving my fabulous middle-schoolers!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Yet to be added

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Was included in Circle of Excellence three times during undergraduate experience. Finalist for Elementary Education Undergraduate of the Year (while raising three children and running a household!)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Graduated summa cum laude from Buffalo State College as (very!) adult non-traditional student. Received M.Ed in 2006.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Still loving the actual art and science of teaching. Nothing compares to that moment when a student's eyes light up and the 'aha' appears! !
