I used this project at the end of my unit of fractions. Students were able to create their own kite and describe what fraction they colored each color.
I have used this is my classroom for three years. It works like a charm. The students love to see how many gum balls they can earn during the given time. I have either set the timer for the full amount of work time or set it for smaller increments of time. As a reward, if they reach the goal, I sometimes give a piece of bubble gum, or something toward a classroom goal for some other reward...For example I might give them a letter toward building the word Compliments. This camping themed game focuses on two ELA Common Core standards- RF2.3b- Know spelling-sound correspondences for additional common vowel teams as well as RF2.3c- Decode regularly spelled two-syllable words with long vowels. Perfect for the woodland themed or camping themed classroom. I am excited to use this game in my classroom during literacy centers next year and I hope you will be too.
This smart board file is complete with montly calendars. It touches on many aspects of math, including skip counting, even and odd, calendar, money, as well as weather and graphing.
I use this poster in my classroom when I introduce double digit addition. This poster keeps them organized and helps them to remember which column to start with when adding or subtracting. I tell my students to remember this saying to go along with it. I love to do math! My students love this method.
