These fun and engaging activity mats are perfect to use as Math Centers. They encourage exploration of composing and decomposing number, including missing addends, bonds to 5 and bonds to 10. They were intended to be used with play dough, however, if you don't have any available in your classroom, counters/blocks/other manipulatives will work well as well. This activity is great for developing your students' ability to recognise and name 2D shapes and to understand their features. The first part of the activity requires students to create a picture from the shapes provided (or you can ask them to draw their own shapes to increase the difficulty). The second part of the activity requires them to graph the number of shapes that they have used.
