-I created this center after purchasing Prefix Suffix and Root Words Bundle from TPT. Why reinvent the wheel? I created a mat where the students can manipulate prefixes and suffixes to create new words with a given base word. If you want you can search for words that contain prefixes and suffixes in the story/article of the week and cut the prefix and suffix so your students can recreate the word. Teaching style

Hands on and kinesthetic approach to teaching. I am one to break away from a textbook to teach hands on activities to introduce and reinforce new concepts to my "ducklings." I am definitely a constructivist- always scaffolding information.
