Types of Poetry
The purpose of this lesson is to identify the characteristics of narrative, lyrical, humorous, and free verse poetry and compare four poems to determine the type of each poem. Students will make a small project with the attached labels and definitions. Links to recommended poems are included; however, use any poem YOU love to teach this lesson by copy/pasting into the space provided.
