About the store
This is my 18th year of teaching first grade. In that time, I have worked with 80% ESL students. I have worked 7 years on a District Curriculum Mapping team. On this team I build the science, math, and ELA curriculum for grades K-5. I developed learning activities, assessments, and found resources for teachers to use in their instruction. I have been trained in SIOP method of instruction and RTI. This past year I served on our schools SIP team, data team, and RTI team. I completed my Reading and Literacy master's degree at Marygrove University in August of 2012.

Ways to Make 5, 6, 7, & 8 {Math Center}
This center is a great way for you students to practice identifying ways to make 5, 6, 7, & 8. The students must sort cards with various ways to write numbers. Student have to identify numbers by solving ten-frames, addition sentences, subtraction sentences, tally marks, counting groups, & solving dominoes.

Spotty Dotty Fact Triangle Flashcards {Addition & Subtraction}
Are you tired of getting all your fact triangle sets mixed up? With this set of fact triangles this will no longer be a problem. These sets are divided by color and design. There are two different designs {white polka dots & black polka dots}. Each design set has 8 colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, & black). Doubles Plus 1 Practice
Here is a worksheet where you students have to create a double fact number sentence. Then they have to create a Double Plus One number sentences related to the double fact they just wrote. This is a great reteach tool. Enjoy!

Number Identification Game - I have... who has?
This is a great activity for students to work on identifying numbers. This is how you play...
Pass out a card to each student. The student with the star goes first. They read their card (i.e. - "I have 4, who has 10"). The person who has "10" would then read their card (i.e. - "I have 10, who has 23"). And so on, until it goes all the way around the room and ends up at the person with the star on their card. Double Digit Addition Sort - Matching
This is great way for your students to practice their double digit addition. You can have them work individually or in groups. I have printed them off and laminated them so that I will have them for years to come.

This is great way to practice mental math addition problems as a class. Pass out a card to each student. The student with the star goes first. They read their card (i.e. - "I have 10, who has 4+1"). Pumpkin Patch Addition
Here is a great addition practice activity. It can be used in centers/stations/tubs, or as a partner activity. There are four different game boards. Each player rolls two dice and add the numbers together to find a sum. If the answer is on their game board they will marker it with a game marker. The first player to cover all the pumpkins in the pumpkin patch wins.
**It is recommended to print the game board in color on cardstock and laminate.

Teaching style
I believe in reaching all learners. When doing a lesson I try to reach each learning style. With my ESL students it is highly important to have visual and hands-on experiences. I really believe in choice theory. I work hard on talking all my students through their good and bad choices. I feel that it is important to instill responsibility at an early age in order to make the students better citizens in the future.
Awards & shining teacher moments
I had the honor of presenting at the Michigan School Improvement Conference in 2012. I presented with some of my other colleagues on how our school closed the gap from 26% to 72% top to bottom.
