Teaching style

I take a hands on approach to learning in my classroom, yet still have "products" produced when necessary to ensure mastery. Our classroom is a fun, loving, and safe, learning environment where it's okay to make mistakes. I also believe that social emotional learning is equally as important as our academic curriculum. We are a family that likes to work hard and play hard each and every day!

I have taught 1st Grade for 18 years and love it! Each day is a new adventure. I learn just as much from my Firsties as they learn from me. I take great pride in teaching these little minds that will grow to do great things one day. I believe in teaching the whole child...socially, emotionally and intellectually, in order to create well rounded individuals. I love going to work each day and watching my students grow into confident, capable learners. It is the most rewarding part of my job.
