Hi again,
Still loving your labels!
Wondering if not on the labels themselves, does your package tell which standards the labels address? (ie. OA1 label 1 and 2)
Thank you!

Hi,
I love this package. Really nice work. Is there any way that you would be willing to add the common core numbers (ie. OA1) to the journal labels? I really want to buy and with that it would be perfect!
THANK YOU so much,
Liz

Thanks for the feedback. We are unable to make changes to the current edition. We will, however, add your suggestion to our list of ideas for future editions.

I bought the K-2 Addition and Subtraction strategies and 2nd grade Math Journals from the Original Sight K-5 mathteaching. I was wondering if you have anwer keys anywhere that show how some of the strategies are written down. For some of us older teachers, we were never taught a lot of these and it is sometimes hard to figure out exactly what you are looking for in an answer. I loved using your worksheets and my students' scores shot up!

K-5 Math Teaching Resources
No answer keys are currently provided. However, some student work samples showing solutions can be seen in our Math Journal Gallery. Some of our journal tasks are open ended and have multiple solutions. Others have only one solution but can be solved using multiple strategies. We encourage teachers to take a step back and allow students to take ownership of math journal sessions by sharing their solutions and various strategies at the conclusion of each math journal session. As a class the students should decide on the correct answer/s after everyone has had the opportunity to share their conjectures. This looks very different from a more traditional classroom in which the teacher (as the holder of all answers) shows and tells students the solution to a problem using his/her preferred strategy. You will be pleasantly surprised at how much your students can teach each other (and you may even learn some new strategies yourself!)

Help! I bought the Avery labels (5160) and the printing is off. It prints the first two rows fine, but then it cuts the story problem in half. Any suggestions?

When in the Preview Labels screen click the Print icon.
Under Page Handling make sure Page Scaling is set to None and Auto-Rotate and Center is not selected.
Click OK.

If this does not solve the problem try the following:
Verify that you have a current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. To determine the version of Adobe Acrobat, open Adobe from your desktop or start menu, click on help, and then About Acrobat Reader. If you have a version of Acrobat Reader less then 7.0, download an update from the Adobe Reader download page on Adobe's website.

Thank you for your answer. Although your are very true statements about common core but it is important to be clear in the description about the product. Like I said, the word problems are great, an answer key would have made the packet more professional.

I recently purchased 4th grade math journals and 4th grade math projects. I thought I saved them/downloaded them to my computer, but can not find them now. Also they are not coming up on my page under my purchases. Do you know how I can access them here on the website without having to purchase them again? They cost me 19 dollars and I was so pleased to get them. Now am just frustrated.

You may want to contact TPT and let them know that files you have purchased are not showing on your page so that this doesn't happen again. If you email me via our website I can send you a copy of the files as an email attachment.

Is there an answer key for each task with this product?
August 9, 2012 Report inappropriate comment
K-5 Math Teaching Resources
There is no answer key. We have a few worksamples available in the Math Journal gallery on our website and will be developing this more this school year. We encourage teachers to contact us via our website if there are tasks that they are unsure of but most of them are fairly straightforward. If you read the page on our website about implementing Math Journals you will see that a big part of Math Journal sessions is the Share at the end of the lesson. This is where students share their work and debate answers rather than the teacher being the one to give out the answers. Hope this helps!

I just downloaded this to my home email account. I didn't realize it was 117 pages. I don't want to print this from home. How do I send it to my school email address so that I may print it there?
August 8, 2012 Report inappropriate comment
K-5 Math Teaching Resources
You didn't say which file you purchased but just save it to your computer. Once you have it saved you can attach it to an email and email it to yourself to open and save at school. That way you can just print out the pages you need when you need them rather than printing out the whole file at once.

Thanks for this great resource! I know you focus on math teaching resources. Do you have another store or know of another store that focuses on the "ELA/Reading" resources. I would be interested in purchasing a similar product in that subject area.

Most of the 5th grade questions do not require materials. A few of the questions do require materials commonly found in 5th grade classrooms such as numeral cards and Base 10 blocks.

Scipi  (TpT Seller) re: Counting Rhymes
I saw your posting on the home page of Teachers Pay Teachers; so, I thought I would look at your freebie. Well done!

I have a few suggestions that might help you to better market your products. First, create a cover page for each of your products which can then be used as an attractive thumbnail to entice buyers. (Some of your products do have this.) Add a second page which is a directions or suggestions page for the teacher. List several ways you use this product in your classroom. Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product. I do like your mini lesson plan for the week and know teachers will appreciate that.

Use the footer to put the copyright symbol, your name and date of creation on EVERY page. Items, especially free ones, have been "stolen" from TPT and posted on other sites to be sold. You have to protect all of your creations. Also, number your pages.

Since you teach the primary grades, I’d appreciate your input on my freebie listed below.

I am now your 22nd follower, and hope you will reciprocate at my store as well. http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/SciPi/Products

Welcome to TPT, and good luck with selling!

If you email me via the contact page on my website (k-5mathteachingresources.com) I can send you the word version of the document so that you can experiment with changing the size of the font to see if this makes a difference to your printer.
