There are 11 math journal prompts that correlate with Topic 1 of the first grade enVision Common Core Edition math program. Students will do these in their journals on their own with a little prompting, less as the year goes on. ***These are not supported by enVision nor are they part of the curriculum.*** These journal questions support the newest version of enVision.

Students will practice the numbers 1-30 as a review or as an introduction lesson. Each number is on its own page. Practice includes: * writing the numeral and the number word * tally marks * drawing a picture * ten frames * even/odd * identifying the numeral

Students will use the frosted wheat cereal pieces to find all the different ways of making the numbers 5 - 10 (4+1, 3+6, 7+3, etc). There are pages for each number with enough cereal people to show all the ways for each number.

Students will solve problems involving money thinking outside the box. Rather than just counting coins, students will have to think about how to make amounts with different coins.

There are 9 journals questions to go along with Topic 4 of the enVision Math program. These questions help students understand subtraction and number sentences. ***This is NOT part of enVision nor is it endoresed by enVision. This is something I have created to extend the math lessons.***

These questions help students figure out the ways to make the numbers 5 - 10 using counters or other manipulatives. ***This is NOT part of enVision nor is it endoresed by enVision. This is something I have created to extend the math lessons.***

Students will use marshmallow bunnies to complete the graph and the additional math pages. Perfect for before and after Easter. A tasty way to practice math skills!

A 2 page personal student word wall. Includes some of the most common sight words a young reader and writer would need, along with space to add more words when students need them. Can be placed in a sheet protector, folder or simply glued onto paper for their own little folder.

10 math problem solving questions to go along with the CCSS edition of the enVision Math program. This topic covers beginning subtraction and follows each lesson in the topic.

Students will use rolls of Smarties candy to complete a graph and then complete the addition practice after. A fun way to learn math skills!

6 math journal topics to coincide with enVision Math Topic 12: Tens and Ones. Students will draw out answers to problems asking about tens and ones. ***This is NOT part of enVision nor is it endoresed by enVision. This is something I have created to extend the math lessons.***

Four spring-themed literacy centers. Inlcudes 5 sentence scrambles, ABC Order, a syllable sort and a contraction match-up. Recording sheets are included for each center activity. Simply print, laminate and cut. Enjoy spring with some cute already-made centers.

18 pages of literacy centers to be used when learning about bears. Includes 5 sentence scrambles, ABC Order, noun/verb/adjective sort and letter/word/sentence sort. Each activity comes with a student page to copy and place in a center.

Four animal themed language arts centers that cover sentence scrambles, ABC order, rhyming words and types of sentences. Recording sheets are provided for each activity. Just print, laminate, cut and enjoy!
