About the store

I have had the joy of teaching first grade for over 25 years in two different school districts. I also got to student teach in England. I team taught 56 five and six year olds! It was an amazing experience! I did this through Kent State University and am so glad I was blessed with this opportunity!

This is a sample from my word sort unit, Mousetrap. Word sorts are important in helping children to learn how to read. RTI has shown word sorts to be researched based. This packet helps the child to practice reading ail, ain, and ay words. It can be used in a reading group or as part of a word work center.

Teaching style

I believe it is important to make every child feel successful in my class. I want them to love learning and reading as much as I do. If one method for teaching does not work I will find another way to reach each child on an individual level.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have been listed in several different Who's Who books for teachers. This is an honor because former students had to nominate me when they were in high school. It makes me smile to know I touched a life forever!
